Super strong magnet, but versatile, you can make a cross shape too. Lays flat
I bought these to use on a doghouse door I was making out of a doormat. The doghouse is plastic so glue does not work. So I heated up the end of an Allen wrench in a candles flame, then push it thru the holes of the magnetic plate. The screws that come with it, are too small, so I used my own. But they had a raised head so the plate and the metal strip would not lay flat. The good part is the magnet is only in the middle of the plate so I just turned the other plate vertical to make a cross, and it works great. I ended up sewing the metal plate to the door with thread. This was not for a dog, but for an outdoor food pantry. I also sewed another magnet on the outside of the door, and on the top of the dog house I screwed in another magnet plate, so the door can stay open by itself. Just hope it holds up on rainy days. This magnet is so strong it works thru a towel, an oven mitt, and it pulled off the magnet when I only used glue. The magnet is a rectangle 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch and a quarter inch. The plate itself is 1 1/2 inches long. It comes with matching adhesive3M tapes, but didn't work on plastic. I think you must use screws, magnet is too powerful for glue. Like how they are flat, not sideways like other models. These can be used on flat surfaces. Highly recommended. Very happy.

Super strong and super flat magnets
I originally purchased a set of these for an equipment demonstration room at my work. The equipment has doors that are secured with screws or locks but these fasteners got in the way during demos. These magnets are a perfect solution for keeping the doors closed without having to fumble with a key or screwdriver to open them. I found these magnets to be so useful that I purchased another pack to use at home. The included counter sunk wood screws and adhesive pads work well and are very strong. I recommend cleaning the surface to remove any dirt or oils so that the adhesives can work. For my use on equipment doors, the magnets were mounted to sheet metal so I found some small countersunk machine screws and nuts to fasten them as the surfaces are textured and the sticky pads eventually let loose. The magnets are strong enough so that one magnet can grab a fairly heavy 2' x 3' metal door. Some of the doors did not need the catch plate as the doors contain enough iron to hold tight to the magnet on their own.I have used these on some wooden cabinet doors at home in place of the typical magnetic catch that intrudes into the door opening. I am also going to use these to keep some drawers closed that currently open on their own because they were mounted incorrectly.Overall, a great product! I will probably buy more as I discover new uses for my current supply.

Strong magnets.
The magnets are very strong, as a matter of fact, I had a very difficult time trying to get them apart. I purchased them for a metal cabinet that doesn't stay closed. Originally I tried using only the adhesive strips, but the magnets stuck together when I would open the door, pulling one magnet off and adhering to the other. I then had to drill holes in the cabinet for the screws and that was the most difficult part of the installation. The adhesive strips did help keep the magnets in place while I drilled. They work perfectly now and the doors stay closed.

Great cabinet magnets!
These flat magnets have a very good strength without being too clingy. They are thin and great to use on cabinet doors that close directly onto a frame. They are easy to install, because they come with a sticker you can apply to the back of one and drill the screws in. Then put the receiving magnet to cling onto it with its sticky back facing towards the back (where it should go). Close the door and have the receiver stick in the exact spot where it needs to be. Now drill in the screws into the receiver magnet. Voila!

Nice cabinet door closures
I got these to replace some very old kitchen cabinet latches and they work well. Because there is a gap between the two parts after attaching them to the cabinet door and shelf, I had to improvise by adding some cardboard shims behind each piece to bring the two parts closer together so the magnets would engage with the door closed. I used the supplied adhesive strips, but only to attach the cardboard shims to the metal pieces; then I drilled two holes for each piece and used the screws provided so I won't have to worry about the adhesive weakening. When the two parts come into contact, the magnetic force is quite strong and holds the door shut nicely.

Magnet pulled loose on first use. Worked anyway with an adjustment.
I installed the magnet/plate on one side and the plain metal pate on the other, no problem. Closed the door and the first time I opened it, the magnet pulled out of the metal mount. (magnet was stronger than the glue they used to mount it in the metal frame)I removed the metal frame from the door, cut the included adhesive strip to the size of the magnet itself and stuck the magnet strait to the door. It is weaker this way but fortunately strong enough to do the job.Two came in the box so I had a second chance if it didn't work. I only needed one but couldn't buy just one.

Worked great on file drawer
I had a custom built credenza with two horizontal legal size file drawers. The floor must have not been level, and the two file drawers kept opening. I bought this product, and it worked fantastic. I used two of them for each drawer. Initially, I just put them on using the provided adhesive strip. But the magnets are very strong, and when I would open the drawer, it would pull the opposing side of the magnet off. No problem, I just used the provided screws. That took about ten minutes. This was the perfect solution, and very easy to install, and very reasonably priced.
