Great glove for abalone diving in 45 degree water.
I recently purchased these gloves for a snorkeling and diving trip to the Northern California Coast. I had initially purchased a pair of medium 7mm gloves for the same trip. A couple of problems arose there, as size was much too small for my medium-sized hand, and the 7mm was far too thick for what I would be using them. I had very little dexterity with the 7mm gloves, and couldn't use the abalone pry bar very well. So I purchased the 3mm gloves after reading some reviews that they were plenty warm in cold water. I also made sure to purchase a large size, based on my experience with the other set and on the recommendation from some other reviewers. This new pair fit perfectly. They were very comfortable and were just snug enough to form a nice seal around my wrists. They were also plenty warm, and I spent nearly two hours in water that was approximately 45-50 degrees. They appear to be very well constructed, as they held up very well under several hours of fairly vigorous underwater use. Plenty of sticky material on the palms to hold onto the abalone gauge and pry bar without any slippage. Very happy with my purchase, especially considering the affordable price. Recommend without hesitation.

Just buy them, wonderful
These are a definite buy if you like the gloves to come up higher on your arm. They are fabulous for me. I do cold water pool exercise and the keep my hands warmer so I can work out longer in 42 degree or colder water temperatures. Great quality, I hope they will last me a long time. They fit tight and and snug

Nice Gloves, but...
The gloves fit well, but, the product description says that the seams are glued and sewn to resist water entry. The velcro wrist straps keep the water out, but, the seams on all of the fingers let water in freely, albeit slowly. These are not waterproof. After realizing this, I bought some Aquaseal, turned the gloves inside out, and painted all of the inside seams so that they are now truly waterproof, not just "water resistant." I understand how a wetsuit works. Water comes in and stays there, your body warms the trapped water, and you stay warm. I use my gloves for kayaking in winter weather on Lake Superior (January/February), so I don't want water in my gloves. Even my Wal-Mart neoprene fishing gloves were more water resistant than these. Nice gloves for the price, which is why I give them 4 stars, but, if you want waterproof, expect to pay a little more and put out a little effort, to make them so.

VERY happy with the performance!!
I purchased these to be used when riding my PWC in colder weather, so I can't attest to their effectiveness when submerged long-term in cold water, but in the event you like to do any water-related sports in cold weater (and I've used these when it was 28 degrees outside traveling at 70+mph on the water), these will fit the bill. I use them in conjunction with a drysuit and can confidently know that I'll remain comfy in frigid temps. The design and materials of these gloves allow them to be thin enough so your hands will still have flexibility and can be used even when you need dexterity, but the materials allow you to keep warm, even with wind. They perform much better than much thicker gloves at keeping blood flow moving through my hands. In fact, I've even taken them and used them for off-water activities. I also enjoy ATV riding, and I used to sport the thickest, most padded gloves I could to try to stay warm when riding, always to be disappointed. I've replaced them with these gloves as they keep me warmer and I can actually still feel the clutch engagement and throttle much better. I've also used them in winter storms when removing snow from my driveway. Again, they kept me warmer while providing more dexterity and sensation in my hands. If you can't tell, that's really important to me, and my biggest gripe with gloves is losing the ability to use your hands with precision. These will prevent that!

Size up
These are great gloves up to this point. The size is too tight though and results in a fight to get them on when in the water. Should have went up a size, but this is common to happen when ordering dive gear online. Aside from my mistake, they work well and are solid gloves. I have simply given mine to someone with smaller hands and they work great for them. I do intend on ordering the next size up and should be all set at that point. No complaints!

Best cold water gloves I have ever had
I exercise in the PNW waters (Lake Washington) every day and have suffered from cold hands for too long. Things changed when I bought these. I used them yesterday, Oct 15th, for the first time and am thrilled to say my hands were toasty warm. It was so nice. My prior gloves allowed too much water to flow through, which chilled my fingers and palms. The velcro wrist strap is a major factor in not letting new cold water flow through the glove. Instead, the water stayed in and warm, as it should be. They're also a great thickness for cold waters, yet easy to pull on and off. And a perfect fit. I have long fingers and wear large in women's gloves. The small fit perfectly. I am literally stoked about these gloves. Having them will make the PNW waters much more welcoming come Dec and Jan.

Good for swimming
They mostly keep my hands warm and are flexible enough. I wore a hole in one of the fingers the first time I used them underwater metal detecting. I was picking up and moving small rocks, nothing that should have worn a fingertip off, but it did. It didn't poke a hole, it wore away over the course of the day. So if you're just swimming around in cold water these will probably keep your hands warm just fine. But if you are using tools (spear fishing, digging, whatever) or exploring caves or wrecks, or pretty much anything where you are actually using your hands, I wouldn't recommend them.

Comfortable!
I'm gonna have to give these gloves 5 stars for the comfort, quality and price. Actually, I don't know how good the quality is as far as durability goes, but they seem to be great quality. My last gloves were body glove that cost twice as much, and my hands would always feel kinda irritated wearing them. These are super comfortable, and the shape of them makes it easy for you to handle things in the water. I spearfish, so being able to use my fingertips and fingers and feel things is very important - with my last gloves I would either choose not to wear them, wear only 1, or even remove one when I needed to feel something or use my fingertips! Super happy with these, especially because they were less than $20!
