Professional Genealogy: A Manual for Researchers, Writers, Editors, Lecturers, and Librarians

This book has been on my wish list for nearly ten years. I first borrowed this gorgeous book from the local library...two months later they phoned me to tell me that I had to return it immediately so others could share in it's knowledge.That's what is in this tome...knowledge and lots of it. I've been doing genealogy for over 40yrs and I think if it's not in this then it's not worth worrying about.The only downside is that it doesn't have a lot on the internet, but that's ok, because at the end of the day, you need a good foundation on the basics in family history genealogy and this is the book for that!It covers all the things that you need to know about going into business as a Family Historian/Genealogist - covering contracts, business planning, research, evidence analysis, family histories, proofing, indexing & editing, book reviews and classroom teaching.In all a well rounded overview of everything you would want to consider to become a Genealogist!

Corners of front/back hardcover have very-very slight signs it was shelved but the pages display no sign that it was ever read?

this used book has some small dents on cover, barely visible. I am very happy with my purchase.

This has great information for anyone interested in genealogy. I was able to skip around to different chapters to read before completing the complete study. Great reference to refer to when needed from "time to time"

Not what I expected. I wanted to learn about where to search - online, blogs, libraries, etc. this is a manual how to start a business, Contracting, etc.
