Casio Sports Black Watch AQS810W-1B

I bought this for my Dad to use as an everyday watch. He's 70 and appreciates the easy to read dial. It's a big watch, but he's a big guy and it suits him just fine. It's light, which may be a "con" to some people but it really isn't, it's more comfortable to wear that way. So far it seems just as tough and waterproof as it claims to be. The solar power is the icing on the cake. One additional bonus to this watch is that it can display the day of the week in several languages, and the owners manual comes in several languages as well. My Dad is Portuguese and it's a nice touch to be able to set it to that language. For $30 some odd bucks you simply cannot find a better watch than this, and anything cheaper is just junk. The only equivalent I can think of is the Timex Expedition series and none of those are solar.UPDATE; It's now 2017 and my Father still wears this watch every day. He wears it to work (he still works part time even though he's retired) and wears it doing yard work etc, It's banged up a bit but it's still working 100%

Good thing I purchased this watch two week ago for about 38 bucks and free shipment viaUS postal service. It arrived on the 8th day undamaged. I read the instructions and hadno problems setting local time and the alarm, which was loud enough for me.I always love the all black appearance and wide diameter dial accented by large hour andminute hand against the raised tick marks. The luminosity is bright but gets very dim after5-7 minutes. I adjusted the resin band snugly around my wrist without any discomfort. It isvery light weight and doesn't move around while I'm playing some hard tennis.For now, I will give it a 4 star..had no signs of moisture or condensation after showeringbut will submit a follow up report on its ruggedness and water resistant properties. It'snot a G shock but the price was right and would probably buy another one if I ever abusethis one.

I'd been considering a black/sport kind of watch and spent lots of time searching the Amazon catalog. This won and I'm glad it did...I just got it today and I haven't taken it off. It's probably the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. The wide band looks great, tapers nicely, and has a soft feel that doesn't get hot or itchy. The overall design looks better in person...a great example of symmetrical bulk, and the colors--while a couple of shades more darker-goldish on both the wording and hands as compared to the picture--are crisp against the black backdrop. When I look at it it reminds me of a cross between Dale Earnhardt Sr's Goodwrench #3 car and a classic pair of coaching cleats. Last but not least this thing is unbelievably light for its profile. Great watch!!

The product it self is a great buy, but from where you buy is essential, as you may end up having a defective one.The product, its unbelivingly light..because it doesnt have the mechanical configuration needed for the analog watch.It instead uses the digital time to sync up. it doesnt have a seconds hand, and thats litle spooky. But then you will get used to it.its a solar powered watch, and needs constnt exposure to sunlight. it has all the other basic features of the digi-analog watches.it has world times and 5 alarams.The design it self looks sporty and good. for its ramge it is a slightly over priced watch.however, i received a defective piece from Mr.watch and will have to live with it.

I like functional gear that looks cool, and this watch fits the bill. It's a bit reminiscent of a G-Shock, with a lower price point. I like the analog handswith some modern features. The light only illuminates the digital readout, which some people may not like, but it doesn't bother me. And being solarpowered and good for water sports is also cool in my book. I haven't had it long, but it looks and feels durable. Am hoping Casio puts out even more colors for the Tough Solar watch.

So far so good. Programming the time was a little confusing as you will have to adjust the minutes associated with the World Time settings. The watch is light weight and looks good. Illumination of the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions is ok. It would be nice if all the hour markers were luminous. Watch band has slots to accommodate large and small wrist sizes.

It's going to take me a while to get used to having an analog again but this watch has everything any digital watch I've owned does. But I don't have to worry about batteries anymore I'm still getting used to it so maybe I shouldn't write a review yet.

This is my 8th Casio watches. 7 of them are expensive G-shock and this is the only one I have is not a G. This is a great value solar power watch that you can get on the market. there ise a cheaper models along with this line. but I like the gold and black color combo. the blue and black or red and black is about $10 cheaper.It is comfortable, and is much lighter than the large G.

The size is not too overwhelming like some Gshock Casio's yet shares some of the features. It's easy to set up and read the time when your eyes are not what they used to be. I purchased a second hand unit from Amazon for a great price and it was like new with all paper work and packaging. Recommend for sure.
