Can This Really Happen To Us?
Most of us have difficulty imagining huge changes drastically altering our lives; those are what happen to someone else, not us. In this country we have been greatly blessed in that our lives have not been directly impacted by most of the major events that have changed the lives of people in other parts of the world. As a boy I remember watching the newsreels about the Second World War and its impact on people in remote places like England, Japan, France and Germany. Although we had rationing and collected waste paper for the war effort we always had our homes, safe and secure from the ravages of war.Dr. Jeremiah describes in this book a scenario in which that immunity from change no longer exists; people all over the world, including us, will be involved this time in events that will change the face of the globe forever. These events are too big to even imagine and are so far reaching that really nothing can be done to prevent them or even alleviate their impact on our lives. This book is the story of the end of the world as we know it told from a Biblical, Christian perspective. As a Christian I found it both disturbing and inspiring; I long for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ and know that terrible things will have to happen first; it doesn't make the thought of those terrible things any less disturbing to know that they too will come to pass.Because I have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, I believe I will be removed in an event called "the Rapture of the church" before the most serious events described take place. Dr. Jeremiah points out that this is the next event on God's prophetic calendar and could happen at any time. What the Lord does not tell His church is how bad it will get before the church is removed. The Lord condemned the Pharisees for not knowing the signs of the times; this stands as a warning to us today to observe the signs of the times that are being manifested all around us. This book is an effort to describe events today and show how they fit in to the prophetic scenario described in the Bible for the end of the age.The book points the reader to Christ as the answer. I join Dr. Jeremiah as I too believe there is no safety net that will deliver us out of the troubles that are coming; there is, however, a safety person, the Lord Jesus Christ, that can deliver believers through the events happening now and will deliver them from the judgments to come. The book is an excellent warning that change is coming and now is the time to prepare! I recommend it to all who have a concern about what they see happening in the world today.

Flawed Escatology With a 1970ish Theme
As a disclaimer, I just couldn't make it past page 200 of ~260. I'll set aside that this book details the economic circumstance from 4 years ago, but I loathe the time I put into reading the pages I did. The time I've taken for this review is simply to warn others before beginning this book.Basically, there were no gems that I found within. That was the biggest disappointment. There was nothing new. In fact, most of the discussion of the "current times" reads like something from the 1970s - just updated - while other material is just rehashed. As an example, instead of writing how television sets are going to connect everyone to the world, we now have cell phones which will allow the anti-Christ to control the world's population. He also goes on and on about the "mark of the beast" and RFID chips and credit cards. There is nothing new here at all.The speculation of the mark of the beast (666) may very well have been discovered (as God has allowed in these last days) by Walid Shoebat to mean the religion of Islam. Search the term "666 and Islam" on "YouTube" and you will find ample evidence for this. But you won't find it in this book.He later delves into Babylon and COMPLETELY misses the eschatological meaning. There are pages and pages of discussion about how Babylon in Iraq will emerge as a world power again. It won't. A good read to dispel that idea and show what the true Mystery Babylon is:ย A Woman Rides the Beast: The Roman Catholic Church and the Last Days .** (Please See Below)Then there is the topic of the pre-tribulation rapture. I don't mean to argue this topic here, but the biblical evidence that the church will be raptured before the tribulation is scant at best. HOWEVER - and here is the kicker - Dr. Jeremiah states that all Christians will be raptured before the anti-Christ and false prophet hit the stage. BUT then he spends about 50 pages writing about what will happen after the rapture. I don't get it. If I am to be raptured, then why do I care at all about what will transpire? In fact, why would the bible even mention events after the rapture if the church will be taken away? Yes, I know, it doesn't make any sense. Hence, the idea of a pre-trib rapture does not make any sense. In fact, if there is indeed no rapture, we may see an incredible apostasy take place as millions of people who thought they would be raptured will be undeniably living through the tribulation. It's bad doctrine that may very well bring false hope and apostasy to those who subscribe to the rapture teachings. My poor and critical review of this book should not be taken as a bash against this doctrine. It is a poorly researched and bland read with very little redeeming value. I respect the author and listen to him on the radio frequently (that's why I purchased the book), but I cannot recommend this book to others.** UPDATE 8/10/2015:It has been weighing heavily on my heart to update this review even if there are no further people to read it.Since I have now been studying the doctrine of the rapture, I have concluded that - as I believe it - it is a biblically based event that will happen. The story behind my "conversion" (if you will) is straightforward, but somewhat long. However, in the end, I have come to understand that the rapture is not only biblical, but potentially very near. I have prayed for forgiveness for criticising the idea of a rapture before fully fully understanding the concepts before posting what I did.If you are interested in knowing how I came to this conclusion, please leave a comment and I will respond.

Well researched and financially revealing--you should be motivated to put your financial house in order
I am an unashamed fan of Dr Jeremiah and this book is no exception. I am impressed with the extent of research into issues of our financial world that are the direct effect of sin and how this is and will have a potentially devastating impact on our current economy. This information is also beneficial in exposing our poor financial decisions that reflect the influence of culture and are often not wise or Biblical. My one criticism is the book is much stronger in describing the problems than in offering solutions. That being said, Christ followers, especially those with families, need to tighten their belts and get out of debt. The author does not offer any timetables, a sound Biblical approach that avoids the ridiculous predictions of the prophecy pundits, but leaves that to you and God to determine what you need to do in light of coming monetary crises. I hope this book gives its readers a sense of urgency to clean up their acts--I hope I am speaking to the choir of which I am definitely a member (too many expensive toys).

A wake up call on world finance.
I bought "The coming economic Armageddon" in both paperback and audio download forms.(I have used the audio form from my smart phone via car bluetooth suystem on long journeys)Dr Jeremiah,( who can also be heard on Trans World Radio, Sky 0138) shows the foolishness of ignoring God's ways of handling our finances, both Nationally,Globally and Individually.A very detailed treatment of the subject, I think, and both enthralling and sobering as we see an increasingly unstable world and the coming of the Lord drawing nearer.
