I didn't want a snow cone maker that makes huge amounts at a time because my niece doesn't need all that. This makes a dixi cup size snow cone at a time with two small compartments for two separate flavors. By the time the flavor compartments are out she is done with eating them anyways. It is worth it for kids for sure! I purchased sugar free water flavors that we mixed in bottles of water and keep in my fridge for her to go get herself when she uses this. I do not recommend using the trays it comes with for making an ice cube to shave. Just go to your local place that sells "that good ice" and it works great! I have to hold it down while she turns the knob but other than that she can do it all on her own. I got it for her bday gift and she just turned 5.

The ice shaver is hard to use, I find it easier to use cubes rather than the cups it comes with. My kid does not have the strength to get it to work. Cute concept, they love using it.

Works great ! Alot of people say this doesn't work but it really works great. Please make sure when you insert the ice from the mold that the X imprint is face up and olaf's head piece is lined up with that X . It's what grips the Ice block to spin it across the shaver. I shave a whole ice mold in less then 30 seconds. The cup is small but perfect amount for a small child. Edited to say 1 year in and still works great 😃

I was hesitant to buy this with several negative reviews, but after watching a youtube tutorial on how it works, I went ahead and got it. My 5 year old daughter is in love with this little machine! She can work it herself. There is one thing you need to know in order to make this work: put cubed or crushed ice (like from a fridge door) instead of the frozen ice pucks they tell you to make with the included cups. Those do NOT grind up. At all. With smaller cubes or crushed ice it works perfectly and is easy for kids to do themselves.

I purchased this product for my child's birthday. I was very upset to find out how poorly engineered this product is made. The icee machine requires you to make ice cubes in cups that come with the machine. After you freeze the ice cubes, the cubes have ridges that SHOULD interlock with the grinding head, and when turned should allow for the shaving of the icee, it just doesn't work. As you grind the grinder keeps spinning on top of the ice till it finally just melts and there are no grooves in the ice for the grinder to hold on to. You wait hours for the ice to freeze than can't shave the ice because the grinder just scrapes the top of the ice til the grooves of the ice are gone. It's actually more frustrating than enjoyable. don't waste your money. The old school snoopy ice shaver is a whole lot better. If I could give this negative stars I would.

I am a preschool teacher and when any of my kids have tonsil & adenoid surgery this is my go to gift! They love it and it gets them to eat something cold for the throat.

Easy to use just wish I would of Bought flavourings before hand. Very cute little set that shaves the ice well

This product works but is more toy like in quality. It can brake easily and is very small in size. The cups provided are similar to a shot size and if you plan on making a cup for a hot day, you’ll be slushing the ice for a while just to get a decent amount of slush. I honestly don’t think it’s worth it for the price.

We received the item within the expected delivery date. But the product box was damaged. This was meant as a Christmas present for kids.

It was a gift for a friends child. The only complaint was that they now only ate slushees and anything else they could make. Kids eh!!
