perfect for the purpose I use it for.
I bought this fridge for my cosmetics. My room is the bonus room at the top of the house and gets up to 90 degrees up here when the A.C is turned off even for a few hours. Since a lot of my cosmetics are made from all natural products they expire faster. This fridge keeps them cool at the recommended temperature of 55-65 degrees. It was loud the first day I bought it, but like a lot of other electronics in the house that are on 24/7, it became white noise to me pretty quickly. I noticed that when the weather got chilly for 2-3 days (about 50 degrees) my fridge also got colder. Since this unit cools up to 40 degrees below its ambient temperture, it would probably work well in an office that is always really cold.

90 Warranty, worked for 5 months
While my unit worked, the temperature was very inconsistent. Sometimes it was barely above room temperature, other times things were ice cold. And then it would just stop working but if I turned it off for a while it would turn back on later. Now, not even 5 months after buying it, it's totally dead. If you buy this, some things to know: 1. BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY - YOU WILL NEED IT! 2. The "shelf" they reference is a tiny pocket in the door, not a shelf by any means. There isn't much that fits in there. It's about an inch or less deep and not as wide as the door. 3. The power cord is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. It's a DC (car) power cable, with an AC adapter, so you plug the AC in to the wall, plug the DC part into the fridge, then hook the two together. Kind of neat except that there is nothing holding the two together. If anything tugs on the cord at all, the point where the DC plugs into the AC just pulls apart - very easily. 4. I don't know if this is the case for all of them, but on mine the Cold and Hot are reversed. I had to switch it to Hot and have the red light on for it to be cold. 5. Condensation is a definite issue. You will want to mop the fridge out regularly, but this is the case for any tiny refrigerator, not just this one. Coolers don't have this problem, the little refrigerators do. 6. It can get loud. I had mine on the headboard to keep medication and beverages in. We have a window a/c unit running at all times and sometimes this fridge got too loud even over the sound of the a/c. I definitely wouldn't waste my money on this again. Fortunately I got the extended warranty so I at least get two goes at it!

Koolatron KWCXJ6 9-Can Mini-Fridge
There are bigger units and smaller units. For me, this was the perfect size for my office. It holds enough cans of soda & fruit for the 4 days I'm in the office. Add to that a sandwich for the day and it's perfect. I keep it plugged in all the time in the office with no issues. It also has the 12V DC adapter to plug in to the alternate power source in my truck when I go hiking or my plane for a long cross country flight. So far, for the $42 plus shipping I paid, I'm very happy with it.

Better than I expected
When I decided on this mini fridge, I was cautiously optimistic to say the least. I honestly thought it would be junk. I am happy to say I was wrong. When I took it out of the box it was smaller than I expected, but it is deceptively small in size. I can actually fit three small bottles of water and three small bottles of soda. I don't usually put cans in it, but it probably would hold the 9 cans if you stacked them. The fridge also has a little plastic pocket in the inside door. Very little would fit there, though. As others noted, there is an audible hum from the fridge, but I have this sitting in my office cubicle, and I am the only one who could hear it. Even then, it is more of a white noise that most people will not even notice after a little while. I do wish it was slightly bigger inside, and sometimes I have to take everything out and dry the bottom of the fridge where a puddle will build up. I think that might be, because they turn the power off in my office on the weekend, but I am not sure. That is the only annoyance, I have noted to date. I have had it for almost four months, and it works great. If your office is on the warmer side, the fridge might not cool enough for your liking, but in most places, with the a.c. running, this will make your drinks cold. A nice touch is that the fridge has an indentation on top, sort of like a carrying handle. That makes this fridge an easy travel cooler. The plug is actually a car charger with a plug adapter to plug into the wall. So you can plug into your car or inside to the electricity. Overall, this has been a really good buy, and this fridge is perfect if you have a small space (like a cubicle) and want to keep some cold drinks near by.

Fridge for office
I decided to purchase this mini-fridge for my office. It really keeps cans of soda, left-overs, and anything else I put in there really cold. I leave it running constantly and it's for the most part quiet. I can notice it running if I think about it but it doesn't bother me or the people around me. I have not tried the warming aspect of the fridge not the car traveling part either. It does come with an adapter to take the car plug in to an outlet and gives enough cord length to put it where you want. Good purchase!

Coca Cola Koolatron 9 can capacity mini fridge is Awesome!
I purchased the Coca Cola Koolatron 9 can capacity mini fridge for my dad that is termanally ill. He is in the advance stages of COPD and isn't able to get up and move around other than going to go down the hall. He loves it! When I bought the mini fridge it did not realize it had the capability to heat things as well. It has the hook up for your car/truck and the adapter already comes with it. I could not tell from reading the description so I ended up buy and additional adapter. It has come in handy since my son left his cell phone charger at a hotel room after a beseball tournament. So I use my car phone charger with it and it works perfectly. You do have to defrost the fridge periodically. I don't know that it was intended to be used 24/7 but that is how we use it. I needed to find something that I could put on my dad's end table so that his drinks stayed cold and I could put a little food in it for him while I'm at work. My best friend fell in love with it and wants to purchase one for her family.

Revised: Junk. But perfect size for work, cute, and quiet
Revised 11/29/10: I've owned this fridge only two months and took careful care of it, but it's already broken. The fan bearings went out (and now it will run but with this horrible loud noise). I can't return it, and it's going to cost me half the purchase price to fix it. Not sure it's worth it. Buyer beware. This thing is cute but flimsy and not built to last. Original review, 09/10: I bought this fridge for work to keep my lunch and milk cool so I can avoid the company fridge. It's the perfect size -- it holds a quart carton of milk. Right now I also have in it a small Pyrex lunch dish, half a cantaloupe, and a block of cheese -- and there's room for more. It's whisper-quiet, low-key, and everything in it is very cold. One thing to note is that mine, which I ordered through Amazon, does not look like the picture. It's more rounded, the oval on the front is a metal design that looks like a retro refrigerator, and besides a tiny Coca-Cola logo on the top, there are no others (meaning, no big logo on the side or the front). It's very cute, much more so than the picture shown here. It's lightweight and not very big for the amount of space inside. It's also worth noting that there is a small shelf on the inside of the door -- very small -- but big enough to put an 8 ounce block of cheese in vertically. That said, I don't know how long it will last. Mine is running 24 hours a day. So far it's the best purchase I've made all year and the price is fantastic, especially compared to other mini fridges that aren't much bigger.

Perfect size, but will need repairs
This mini fridge is the perfect size for my pint-sized cubicle at work and is really the only mini fridge this size that I could find on the market. It is thermoelectric, but all similar-sized products that I could find on the market are also. How it looked wasn't really my objective when purchasing. I kept it on the corner of my desk and it worked fairly well for about 7 months (I ran it almost 24/7) and it always stayed nice & cool. Before buying, I think there are a few things to know: 1) As others have noted, the hinges come apart easily. However, mine is just because the pins holding the hinge together would slip out. Easy fix - just push the pins back in with a small tool or screwdriver. I had to do this several times in the 8 mos. 2) Also as others noted, the DC-to-AC adaptor comes apart very easily on mine. If I hit it lightly with my foot under my desk, the came apart. Also no big deal - just reconnect and all is well. 3) I too experienced a good deal of condensation collecting in a pool in the bottom of the fridge. I just made it a habit to wipe it out with a paper towel each morning as I was putting my lunch into it. 4) Finally (& most importantly), mine also had fan issues. The thermoelectric unit still cooled, but the fan that runs to keep the thermoelectric unit from over-heating suddenly became much louder than it had been. That is when I realized that the fan, while still spinning, no longer moved enough air to keep the unit from overheating. Worried about starting a fire (I think buring down the office automatically gets you graded down on the annual performance evaluation!) I unplugged it and took it home. I took it apart, cleaned it, checked every component, and reassembled - all to no avail. At this point I started shopping online for a replacement. Frustrated by lack of other options available, I asked my husband to give it a final try at fixing it. He disassembled just as I had & had the same luck - that's when he said "well, I will just replace the fan". I had noted another reviewer mentioned contacting the manufacturer for a replacement fan and being told it would cost half the original price of the product. Dear hubby shrugged & said "we don't need to call the company". Turns out the fan they use is a simple CPU fan for the average computer - a quick trip to local electronics store and $6 later, the mini fridge is working just like new! Not a bad product, but certainly not made to last forever. If you don't mind fixing it, it is not a bad choice. I love the size and am glad dear hubby came to the rescue! It is back on my desk and working like a charm!
