IglooParts Kit for Ice Chests, White, 8.5" x 2" x 9"

Nice to see a manufacturer provide easy repair parts in this day and age of disposable everything. Kit worked perfectly, I’m sure I’ll get another 20 years of hard use out of it.

Found a big Igloo cooler dumped or dropped along a road next our house. Needed some serious cleaning, but the latches had broken off and the outside part of the drain plug cap had sheared off. Don't know if the damage was from previous wear or from falling off a truck or whatnot. The parts were easy to replace with this kit. Since the replacement parts are genuine Igloo I'm going to have to guess they'll last as long as the originals. Seeing as how we got this fairly expensive oversize cooler for nothing but a little elbow grease and this kit, the kit is a terrific value!

I have an old-school Marine 72 from the early 80s that has been kicking around in my family since I was a kid, the plastic folding hinge finally snapped off and I didn't have the heart to trash it.This "fixed" the latch, and I appreciate the other spare parts which all seem to match aesthetically to cooler better than this latch system... and that's really my only gripe knocking it to 4-Stars. It "works" it's "fixed" but it just doesn't look the same as the older design.

My dad gave us a HUGE Igloo cooler that had been forgotten in an old supply room. We were in a panic when the hinges broke off and to get a new cooler of that size would have cost us a lot. We use the cooler every weekend on our boat so having the lid constantly lose its seal or the lid falling off was a pain. We were so happy with these replacement parts. It’s like getting a brand new cooler.

If you use an Igloo cooler long enough, you will eventually wear out the plastic hinges, latches and drains, as they are all consumable parts. The hinges will only flex a certain number of times before they get weak and break. Having this kit on hand means you have all the necessary parts to keep your cooler looking and working great. The parts seem to be of OEM quality, fit correctly and work well.

Great repair kit. The parts were not exactly the same for the repair but an improved part. That's probably why the old ones broke - not as well designed. The parts are still labeled Igloo even though they are listed as generic replacements. I broke the retainer to the cap of the drain first few times I used it. Then the latch for the lid broke when someone caught a pant leg on it and tore the plastic. The latch sticks out when not latched down. Nobody wants to keep latching the top when you're using it at a BBQ.The new latches do not stick out like the old ones, but they do hang up on the latch button when you drop the lid. They could have built in a ramp on the latch so it wouldn't catch but no. Maybe this will cease when the latches get used a few times. Don't know... time will tell.The kit comes with new latches, drain plug, and hinges. But not the lid strap for my 100 Qt cooler. That is separate for $5.Easy to do repairs with a screwdriver and sandpaper or a knife.

Fit right into place no problem I would say! Luckily the cooler still had the stickers on it we purchased it used at a yard sale 👌 quality was still there same as what was currently on the box.
