Paramount Antique Wall 1903 Reproduction

I bought this phone as a decoration. I have a cell phone so I don't have a land line phone service, but now that I see how beautiful this phone is I wish that I had a land line. This phone is simplistically beautiful, it arrived on time on it's scheduled delivery date, and it looks fabulous on my kitchen wall. It's definitely a conversation piece, and I wish that I had a land line service just so I could hear how it works but just as a decoration, this phone looks fantastic I am very pleased with this phone and I would recommend this item to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary telephone.UPDATE: 1/30/2015 - When I originally bought this phone, it was only for a decoration in my kitchen since I didn't have a landline. Since then I have had a landline installed, and I still love the way this phone looks in my kitchen, and I'm thrilled that I can actually use this phone. Having said that, let me say that the ringer isn't very loud and I have the ringer setting button on the loudest setting. The ringer is very weak, and the phone would've been more interesting with a rotary dial instead of the push button, and the ear piece cord could've been just a tad longer but those are the only downsides to having this phone. Calls come in crystal clear, and the phone still looks absolutely fabulous after all this time. My family members are so very envious, and I'm so happy that I bought this from Amazon.UPDATE: 3/21/2015 - It only took 3 months of very little use for this phone to break down. This phone got literally NO use even after the landline service was installed, because I have a number of cell phones that I use instead of the landline. Less than 3 months after the landline service was installed and extremely little use this phone no longer works properly, this phone will not dial out. I'm so disappointed because I really love this phone, and I can't send it back to the seller for one that works because I've had it for so long now. I'll discontinue the landline service, since I really don't need it and I only had it to have this phone working. I really wish this phone had lasted longer.

This is a great piece and almost deserves 5 stars. I only gave it four because it has some minor issues. First, the bell is only for looks and it would look a lot better if it were real. The screw holding it in place doesn't match and looks out of place. Second, the earpiece cord is too short and the wire is stiff and cheap looking. It is cloth covered so that's a nice touch. Third, the the mounting plate on the back of the unit does not allow for a true flush mount on the wall. The plate extends out 1/8" and so will the phone when you hang it on the wall. Also, if you are planning to hang this on an existing phone mount, you can't. Well, you could but your phone will stick off the wall 3/8". You'll need to take of the wall mount and hang the phone directly off the wall box. Fourth, the cord supplied with the phone is a desk phone cord and will be useless to you if you plan to hang the phone in the location of an existing wall plate. You'll need to find a short, 6" cord that can be tucked behind the phone.I call these minor issues because you can work around them for the most part, put I took away a star because you shouldn't have to. Other than that, it's a nice looking piece and it works.

It's visually interesting on wall, and sounds just as good as a non-novelty land line. As another reviewer noted, you do need to buy a six inch cord, as the supplied cord is far too long for a wall jack. Personally, I would have preferred to spend a few more dollars if the phone had a real ringing bell and if the black portion of the phone you speak into wasn't just cheap plastic. However an excellent value for the price. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase, and looks good in a room with a light maple floor and some dark wood furnishings.

My husband wanted this phone for our kitchen. We don't really use a house phone but thought it would look nice on the wall. The first phone they sent out was broken and the customer service was not very good, I had to get Amazon involved. There is also a restock fee if you return the item from the company I bought it from. They did eventually ship us one that works and it's great! The ringer is not nostalgic sounding, it actually sounds like a cheap digital ringer and the number dial does not spin, it is a push button. You do hold the hand piece to your ear and speak into the phone which is pretty neat. Since we rarely use this phone the ringer/dial numbers/handset work very well or us. I would recommend this phone for someone who wanted something different and of visual interest on their wall!

My kids love this, anyone who visits has to stop and look it, and attempt to use. I have people who will actually call it from their cell phones just so they can talk into it. It looks nice, and the only things negative about it are that the ring is too electronic sounding, and that the wall chord attachment that comes with it is too long.

Wow! I love my 1903 wall phone. I recently moved into a new home and wanted something different to decorate my breakfast area. I put up some antique French wall décor and thought about this wall phone as an accent piece. What a winner! My grandkids loved it. They made all kinds of calls using it. The ringer is very loud and easy to hear. I think we have created a new fad. Everyone that sees it loves it. It makes me smile when I think of the fun this has brought to our breakfast time.

Love the look of the phone. The buttons are push, not rotary but it still looks great. The ring tone could stand improvement. It would be better if it were less digital and more old fashioned like a bell. We are pleased with the call quality as well. All in all it was a good purchase.

I bought this phone as a decorative piece to cover up an old phone jack in my kitchen. My house is old fashioned and this completes the look. I love it. It was a little more pricey than what I wanted to spend, but it’s the look I wanted so I worth it.
