seam is the problem
bought a Fastrack 3-person FT465 in 2015 (from Dick Sporting Goods), loved it for almost 5 years until the seam at the rear end (holding together side and bottom) popped open about 3 fingers wide. This is an area that gets folded every time when you pack up. I am doing this is exactly as they show it in their videos. The kayak lost all air instantly in the side compartment. Happened on shore but would have been hugely dangerous on the water. SeaEagle should recall all kayaks that are produced in this manner. Law suit waiting to happen. Contacted SeaEagle a week ago to find out if this can be repaired, so far no response. Given that SeaEagle has decades of experience, you would think they would avoid producing flawed and dangerous products en mass - it threatens their existence as a company.

Nice boat
I owned the SeaEagle paddle ski before purchasing this boat. While the paddle ski was quite versatile, and could hold a ton of gear, any small wind and the thing was all over the place. It was a very difficult boat to maneuver, and pretty awkward with a motor as well. I decided to let it go and purchase the fast-track. The fast-track by comparison is superfast to set up. I have an electric pump, and each pontoon takes maybe a minute, and the floor another 30 or 40 seconds. I generally inflate the seats at the car with the foot pump, and carry them to the water. They are great for hanging out on the shore as well. This little boat is highly maneuverable. I was able to paddle a steady 2+ mile hour against the wind, and tracking was very very good. Occasionally I stuck the paddle in the water to keep from drifting a little bit or to get the boat back on track, but this was only due to a fairly good wind. You can hear the water slap against the Keel, it wants to go straight.I love the inflatable floor, and almost feels like a rigid kayak. To me, the tube size is just about perfect in the classic model. I would think the newer design one would take on some water in choppy water, but have no first-hand experience.I purchased a 8" x 4' long aluminum bench seat, and I strapped that to the back of the boat via some 1 inch webbing that I ran underneath the floor and then up to some cleats that I had mounted on the board. To this, I mounted the torqeedo ultralight 403 motor, and devised my own tiller arm using a small universal joint. It's basically very similar to what SeaEagle sells, but quite a bit cheaper, and I'm able to get a little more leg room with my design. A person could easily mount a Minn kota or similar trolling motor. To have this kind of versatility is amazing. We are talking a 20 mile range at 2mph. I can stay out longer, and explore more places. The paddle ski was a bit awkward for me to carry around at almost 50 pounds, but this one is much easier at 35 pounds. If I have a ways to go, I have a small magna brand luggage cart that I use. I now understand that SeaEagle has a luggage cart that accomplishes a similar task.Overall, a really remarkable boat. A few things I'd like to see is about another 8 to 10 inches on the length for some additional legroom when the motor is mounted, and two people are on board. Without a motor, the legroom is fine. A place to store the paddles on the side of the boat, and appears the new models have this. The little inflatable deluxe seats are quite comfortable, particularly if the part you sit on is left slightly mushy. They keep your butt dry too.So, to sum up. Lightweight, fast to set up, compact, very straight tracking, fast, and a floor that's almost solid as a rigid kayak, but overall much more comfortable. Sea eagle did an amazing job with this one, and I'm super happy with this boat.

Coming apart at the seams, literally!
Bad review for Sea eagle 385 FT. I’ve had this boat for 4 years and have used it 10 times. Price... $1100. We filled it and launched last week. Got about 100 yds in the lake and had a big seam failure on the left tube inside the bow. Sea Eagle says it’s not repairable because the whole glued seam (bow to stern) is now suspect. It has a three year warranty. I can’t argue with that, it’s right there in black and white. It even had a trial period where you could send it back. The people I talked to at Sea Eagle were very nice. One suggested that heat is the culprit (It is hot in Florida in the land of boats)They offered me a new hull for $500 + shipping. My question is why would you buy something this untrustworthy. My 2012 car sat right next to the Sea Eagle kayak for 4 years in a warm garage. The car’s tires are still full and the vinyl trim is still attached after 30000 miles. My bicycle tires stay inflated and intact ..same place. I fully expected to have leaks that could be patched. That’s what inflatables do. This kayak literally “came apart at the seams”. Would you want your family to take a chance on something this fragile? Buy a hard kayak. The space saving feature that makes these boats so attractive is not worth the risk to your safety or the extra money. I am declining the replacement offer. As a politician recently said “There’s nothing to be learned from the second kick of a mule”

If space is an issue...get an inflatable kayak
We use our Sea Eagle Fast Track in lakes and ponds. We bought it for the convenience of taking in our motor home. The backpack makes it easy to carry to the edge of a lake and then inflate it with the foot pump included. It deflates and rolls up easily. It tracks very well, the seats are comfortable and two paddles are included, plus a repair kit. We purchased an additional Sea Eagle carry bag to put all the extra pieces like the paddles, seats, life jackets, repair kit, etc. So far we are very pleased with our purchase and we would recommend this to anyone that has a space limitation.

The Glued Seams WILL FAIL - Don't Buy
Sea Eagle builds their boats by gluing material together. This is fundamentally flawed and guaranteed to fail after your warranty is over and before you are tired of kayaking. The seams need to be welded, not glued.Their customer service is quite blunt and their response was as follows... "I am sorry that the seam of your kayak has ruptured. Unfortunately because the seam has separated we would recommend replacement over repair as even if you successfully seal the opening, it will continue to build pressure and would likely separate in another section of the seam."

Fun and Easy
This has worked well for us. We are new to this and it has been easy to inflate and deflate. We have used it 4 times so far in the month we have used it .

Sea Eagles come apart at the seams in time
I have owned the tender, 330 kayak and the Fast Track. Very happy at first. No issues with the 330. After several years of use of the tender and Fast Track and stored 90% of the time deflated and out of sunlight in a cool space, the glue is no longer holding the seams and after many repairs, have given up on Sea Eagle. The bottom line is that the seams are not supported with an overlay and the glue does not hold up over time. I just tossed the tender in the trash and bought a hypalon tender and plan to go to plastic kayaks.
