Hello, This is Sandy with Georgia Pacific. A panliner turning brown and brittle is influenced by factors such as the length of cooking time, oven temperature and type, and the amount and type of food, number of uses in the oven. A higher temperature, longer cooking time, and multiple uses will lead to greater browning. This product may be used up to 450° F. but the panliner may get quite brown at that point. We suggest you test the panliner under your proposed conditions of use to determine what will work best for you. Thank you.

It browns/ brittle slightly only at very high temperatures 425 degrees and above. Nothing unexpected. I love it, it's strong and gets the job done.
