The iron cup cannot bounce like the hammer!
I dislike the iron cup. I better success with concrete slab. The mallet on the other hand works very well!

This heavy, well constructed mortar and pestle turns my toughest rocks into small dust (60-100mesh) for roasting sulfide ores. What an easy to use, very affordable alternative to a traditional, expensive rock crusher machine. Fast and easy, wet or dry process. Fantastic for small batch testing.
