Runs cool and quiet. Doesn't come with instructions because it's used in several laptop models. Things you'll need to replace this:1. Heat sink grease2. A tool kit like this: Zacro 18 in 1 Professional Opening Pry Tool Repair Kit with Non-Abrasive Nylon Spudgers and Pack of 8 Anti-Static Tweezers  (mainly for the 2 plastic pry bars and the black pointy thing called a "spudger") to prevent breaking the clips inside the laptop from using an exacto knife or other regular home tools3. A trip to Google to search instructions for your specific model of laptop. Sites like Ifixit have good ones with step by step pictures, including instructions for replacing the heat sink grease before re-seating the fan / rod assembly.4. About an hour for teardown and reassembly

The fan runs at high speed constantly and it's annoyingly loud. The old fan didn't always spin up but at least it didn't continually run at top speed.

This fan fits the same as the OEM fan. However, it is a single speed fan and runs constantly. The original fan was variable speed. This will get your computer working again without too much installation hassle, but it doesn't function the same.

It worked great. Although I had to remove the motherboard completely to replace it. So be warned it is a lot of work.

Perfect for hp pavilion g7 laptop fan replacement. I ordered an eathtek fan before this one only to be completely dissappointed with a fan that was not correct even though it was marketed as so.I replaced the broken fan with this one and it spooled up as soon as the laptop powered on. This fan is perfect for hp pavilion g7 laptops.
