I've tried almost every brand and really am pleased with this one!
I switched my dogs from Eagle Pack to this with no problems. My dogs seem to do a lot better on a grain free food. They go absolutely crazy over this brand! I love that I can feed it to my 60 pound pit, my 35 pound Aussie, and also my 4 pound chihuahua. Kibbles are very tiny, so my chihuahua who is missing teeth has no problems with this food. Not to get gross either, but their stools are very solid on this food. I've tried almost every brand, Blue buffalo, Fromm, canidae, eagle pack, everything! Will definitely be sticking to this one!

We switched from Blue Buffalo and are never going back!
I am such a fan of this dog food! This was my first time ordering Nutro and I’m sticking with it now. Our 11 month bernese mountain dog puppy had previously being eating Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy Dry Food in the chicken variety since we got him at 6 months old (he’s a rescue pup) and as we’d ordered Blue Buffalo in the past for our lab, we felt no reason to switch. We were always moderately happy with BB and was under the impression that it contained all the right nutrients. This however, is far superior. Teddy, our Bernese, had been having very loose stools for a while. They sometimes got better and firmer, then returned for a while and it went back and forth. We tried to switch things up and add vegetables to his diet etc... but his bathroom trips were never great and it was getting very concerning. I read about grain free dog foods and decided to order this for him instead. I also thought that changing to a variety other than chicken might be a good idea. Within 48 hours, Teddy was producing perfect stools and (for some strange reason) immediately started going in the middle of our lawn after switching to this instead of hiding behind a bush, as he’d done previously. I don’t know if he feels the need to show them off to us or something. Lol! Anyway, I have a feeling that lamb (the flavor we chose) is a bit more complex and bit better on his digestive system. Or, it could be that things have improved cos this is grain free... Either way, I’m very happy to see the results before my very eyes and I’m delighted this food is doing our boy good. We still mix in a little broccoli or other veg from time to time and he seems to really like the taste of this dog food too.

My dogs are addicted. It smells like fried chicken. Video of my dog's reactions included.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I researched for days, there are so many bad and dangerous dog foods out there, and found this brand to be one of the safest. I chose it for it's high marks on several dog food advisor websites and for it's price. Amazon appears to be the best place to buy it. It smells like fried chicken whenever I open the bag. I kid you not. It's no wonder my dogs love it and I feel good knowing it's good for them. The video says it all really. Surprisingly, they aren't gaining weight by this dog food, staying a nice healthy weight. We've had the dog food a month now. Their coats are getting real shiny, they aren't scratching (they used to), and they still love it like they did a month ago. I will be sticking with this brand from now on. I also bought their wet version to help me when giving them their heartworm monthly pills, and they gobbled that right up too!

One dog extremely ill and the other one fine?!
I bought a small bag of this to try out first since my little dog prefers little kibble. Both dogs liked it so when that small bag was gone I bought the large one. The day after they ate it my little dog was extremely ill (couldn't hold her head up, drooling profusely, shaking, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea) and had to rush her to the vet. ~$300 later found out it was the food. Oddly, my mid-size dog didn't have any trouble at all, but the vet said it all depends on what kind of bacteria is already in their gut when they eat something contaminated. I've seen other reviews complain about the same illness and it's not just in small sized dogs so as a HUGE animal lover I must say be very cautious in choosing this food for a dog with a compromised immune system and/or has food sensitivities.

My dogs like it!
My dogs eat grain free food and I look to try different brands from time to time. Both dogs liked this quite a bit. Actually they seemed to like it better than their last food so we've decided to switch brands. The first time I ordered from Amazon I had a coupon code. But now Im buying at a local pet food store as its less expensive there.

ACTUALLY GRAIN-FREE
My Catahoula Leopard dog has a severe grain allergy that she's had since i first got her at 3 months old. She loses her hair and becomes a naked mole rat immediately upon ingesting grains of any sort. I have tried countless different dry foods that have claimed to be grain free but have still caused her immediate hair loss. I noticed a lot of the chicken "grain-free" foods were causing her allergy to flare up and i was unable to keep salmon fresh enough for her liking. When i came across Nutro Max with grain-free LAMB, i was sold. Especially, because Nutro has a good reputation behind them. We have been buying this exact dry food for the past 2 years and my 3 year old pup has a full body of healthy hair and absolutely chooses this food over other dry foods i've purchased.

Switched to Nutro Max after trying TOTW—We LOVE Nutro Max!
We were feeding our Germand Shepherd Taste of The Wild for awhile, but after getting halfway through the bag, she wouldn't go near it. This happened several times. I couldn't outwardly tell that anything was wrong with the food. The only indication that something was off was her refusing to eat. Because of this, we decided to switch. We chose Nutro Max based on reviews and price. She loves this food. I love that it's grain-free and reasonably priced. We order one bag every two months for her. Her coat is just as shiny as it was when she was eating TOTW, she doesn't experience dryness, and she smells like a puppy even though she'll be two in May. We're very happy with this dog food.

They shed less!
I have 2 large short hair dogs, and 1 small long hair dog. I wanted to find an affordable yet reasonable quality dog food for them. They eat it up, and they are shedding less!!!! Perhaps it's a coincidence, but my house was once covered in hair. I had to sweep and vacuum daily to keep up with it. After a month on this food it is very manageable. That is worth it to me.
