Video Baby Monitor with Remote-Controlled Camera and Wide Screen by Axvue, Grey, Model E650

This is my fifth (!) brand of baby monitor I have tried. Samsung (worked okay, but pricy), Motorola (defective out of the box), Foscam (wonderful, but smaller screen and died after 2 years), and Infant Optics (pricy, with no VOX). I thought the Infant Optics one would be perfect based on the reviews. Far from it! The screen was small, and when you turn off the screen, the sound stays on. For a bad sleeper like me, that kept me awake all night with the static and baby turning. I have been looking for a new monitor with VOX (voice activated screen), but have not had any luck.Enter the Axvue monitor. I am so happy with this thing!Pros:- VOX that is adjustable to baby's volume levels.- Huge screen.- Pan & tilt.- Keeps a charge really well.- Camera and sound is decent quality.- Good range in a two story 2800 sf house.- Microphone that actually sounds like you when you speak through it.- An easily accessible screen on/off button on the top.- Easy to add cameras.- Sound level indicator goes from green to yellow to red, which is easier for me to notice than multiple lit up dots when baby yells.- Two level kickstand for different viewing angles.- No "lullaby" function button to accidentally press at 2 AM.Cons:- *So hard* to get from one camera to another. Literally 8 button clicks, at the minimum. It's terrible. Luckily I only need to have one camera on at a time. The scanning function works okay (where it flashes between cameras) but I prefer having it on VOX so that I don't have to watch the screen to know if they're awake.- The pan/tilt buttons are really not easy to figure out in the dark. One button for up, another for down etc. rather than toggle buttons.- The thermometer on one camera reads about 5 degrees warmer than the actual temperature. The other camera is accurate.I would have paid double the list price for one of these. It has everything I was looking for at a very reasonable price, with nothing I didn't need.

For the price it is decent. I've had one that cost almost $70 more and wasn't much better if at all. This one has a 5 inch screen, but the picture is not that great, not horrible but not HD either. Signal is decent, but still gets lost on my patio (some 45-50 feet away) from time to time, and gets pixelated from time to time even while in the living room (about 30 feet away from camera).Update (1/5/2018) - so, the battery has started showing its age ($15 for replacement on Amazon), lasts about 3 hours in standby mode with occasional glance at the screen (turning the screen on for 2-3 seconds at a time). The C/F setting has a mind of its own, as does the zoom - sometimes it just goes a bit crazy. Every 2 months or so I need to reset the camera as it appears to loose connection to the monitor. Still, the price makes it attractive I think, so keeping it at 4 stars (for now).

I HIGHLY recommend this camera/baby monitor who is wanting a RELIABLE and TRUSTWORTHY device to help keep you sane with monitoring lil' humans. I have 2 cameras already, looking to get another one, the setup was super SIMPLE as well. Very happy with this product. :) I've now had this monitor for 6 months and I do NOT regret buying it. I did (probably too much) research on the kind of camera I was searching for and couldn't find the specs in more popular brands. I was looking for the ability to move camera 360 degrees (so I could scan the room), the ability to have the talk feature, temp shown, a monitor that had a big enough screen and was clear to look at and not fuzzy (nighttime vision clarity as well), AND the capability of having more than 1 camera. I have two children under age 3- I can keep an eye on them without running around like a crazy person, LOL. This camera has ALL the things I was looking for and I've been impressed with it's battery life. I can take off charger for HOURS and it's fine. Customer service and website was also helpful with questions. (I had a question on how to get to change celsius to Farenheit with temp shown on monitor - tip, hold down top button for 3-5seconds till it changes).

Received the package within 2 days of ordering. Opened up and set up monitoring system within 5 mins! That includes hanging camera on wall!! Picture is great! Range seems to be very well I have camera in 2nd floor room and picks up well on main level and basement. The features are great and include; talk back, tilt, pan, and zoom.

Fabulous monitor! This is our 2nd baby monitor. Unfortunately our first monitor had repeated battery issues and then we found the Axvue E650 and we are SO much happier. It is half the price of the one we had before (with serious battery issues), the battery life is great, the picture is clear and the screen size of the picture is a very good size. I really have no complaints. The sound is good - we can hear everything on the lowest setting, there is a speaker component if you want to speak to your child through the monitor, it does not hook up to the internet so I don't worry about it being hacked. Overall it is an awesome baby monitor that I would highly recommend and feel that it was a better investment than the one we spent double the price on.

UPDATE: Now 6 months later, the monitor has turned different colors and is unusable. We tried resetting the monitor and camera both and no luck. Looks like we have to buy a new one. Up until now this was a 5 star product. But upsetting that it stopped working without any sort of damage being done to it.Really like this baby monitor! Especially the remote pan and tilt so I can follow my wiggle worm when she moves in her sleep. The zoom feature is a plus because it lets me get just that little bit of a closer look.The range is excellent! I can be in the backyard, playing in the pool with my older son and still keep an eye and ear on baby in her bed!You get the functions and quality for a smaller price than the big names with big prices. And who doesn't like that?Being able to link additional cameras to one monitor is awesome. We would love a second camera since we also have a big kid that sleep walks.After using it for over a month, I can say we've tested all features and can really recommend this monitor.
