With some trepidation, I ordered the Landhoo Type C USB for my new GPD Pocket UMPC. It cost less than most Type Cs with the same specs, at least $20 or more. Was I pleasantly surprised? GPD reneged on its plans to provide a genuine Type C Hub with the shipment of its new UMPC and many buyers were not happy. The GPD forums also contained critical comments from purchasers who tried other hubs. The Landhoo Type C hub worked perfectly right out of the small box. Small, light-weight, it satisfied all of my needs for extra ports. The one disconcerting thing about it is that is must be slid into the Type C port upside down. Doing so covers the other ports on the right side. Its light weight also risks it being dislodged if tapped or touch hard. But overall I am very satisfied with the device, especially since it fills a need for the new GPD Pocket. Other GPD Pocket buyers will find it similarly useful, I am sure.

I haven't found it useful with my 2016 MacBook
The problem is primarily mechanical it seems. The USB-C plug does not go securely enough into the Macbook's port, as the body of the hub has to e flush against the side of the computer. As a result, the connection is intermittent. It might work fine with other laptops, but not mine. I'm going to one with a short cable to plug into the Mac. This not only improves the connection, but leaves room on the other side for more expansion.

as you can find cheap ones from companies like Wish that work just as well as this one
I use this on my 13 inch Lenovo Yoga 720. I wish I had returned it when I still had the opportunity, as you can find cheap ones from companies like Wish that work just as well as this one. Mine sits loose in the connector, and therefore whatever you've got plugged into it loses connection if moved even slightly. The hub as a unit also gets in the way of my charger input which is located on the same side. Overall I regret the purchase

So far works great with my Mac Book
The quality can be felt when held in hand, was not made from cheap plastics. So far works great with my MacBook. Response quickly, even when I connect to more than one resources. If I met meet new issues in the future, I will come back for an update.

When you use, avoid the slightest movement
Terrible quality. My USB drive kept disconnecting with the slightest movement: I kept getting notifications that my drive was disconnected improperly. In general, build quality is abysmal: ports don't fit correctly, and it feels wobbly.

Helping with compatibility of connectors on my Mac Pro.
Very handy adaptor for Apple computers. Especially for adapting to USB connections, which vary with the newness of the computer. Ahandy gadget, well worth the reasonable cost. I have a Mac Book Pro 15inch, mid 2015, and use the adaptor to make connectionscompatible.

Mediocre: It gets the job done, but its not completely secure in the USB port.
I purchased this product because it was a lot cheaper than purchasing multiple ports for my 2017 MacBook Pro w/ Touchbar. However, its very loose in the USB port. You have to have it on a stable surface like a table or countertop in order for it to not move around. Its a little tedious because I use my computer in many different locations, many times where I put my computer in my lap and with this USB port combo, its hard to do that. I had to put it at a certain angle for it to work well. It does get the job done if you're looking for a not-too-expensive alternative, however.

Handy, but useless with a case
If you need an adapter and are using your laptop without a case, it will work, but its connection is flimsy. It’s impossible with a case, though.
