Privacy Filter for 22" Widescreen Monitor (16:10) (PF220W1B)

I was looking for a privacy screen for my computer at work. I view sensitive data, but my computer screen was completely viewable to people coming at me from either side. I got tired of having to close work when people came by to talk, or even if they just happened to be walking by and staring at my monitor. I have no cubicle walls, but my back is to a wall, so this product worked great for me. I have actually had people lean over my desk to look at my computer monitor because they thought I was sitting at my desk looking at a blank screen. I won't go into how rude my co-workers are, but I love this product. However... We purchased two of these, one for my computer and one for one of my co-workers. His desk sits so his back is exposed and he didn't want people constantly looking over his shoulder at his work when they walked by. If your concern is people coming up behind you, this screen will not work for you. It is 100% viewable if you are looking at the screen head on. Not even a little distorted. But if (like me) you have your back to a wall and people are coming at you from the sides, this thing is worth its weight in gold.

Product works. I've also did order another privacy filter from ProTechBiz, which unfortunately did not work at all, even in the slightest bit. Luckily, Amazon's return policy and system is awesome to use, and the return is painless (so far). The important to allow this to work properly is the contrast and brightness setting of the monitor. If you set everything to 100, no privacy filter in the world is going to work perfectly. With this filter, at 100 setting for both brightness and contrast, you can kind of tell what is on the screen. For example, you can tell the person is surfing web. However, it's dark enough that you won't be able to see exactly what is on the browser. By reducing the brightness and contrast level to approximately 80 and 60 respectively, this privacy works perfectly. For those who still insists only using settings at 100, it is as I have mentioned above. People can see what you are doing, but can't really figure out the details. So, it's practically safe to work on confidential information and the person next to you can't see the details. However, you are probably playing games or surfing web where you want to make sure your boss can't see what you are doing, you will want to consider other options.

High quality screen protector with privacy filter! The product arrived exactly as described. The package included a cleaning cloth, plastic tabs, and multiple adhesive piece to secure it to the monitor. There are 2 ways to secure it. First is to apply the adhesive strips directly to the screen and then press to the monitor. The second is to use the plastic tabs that are provided to hold the screen against the monitor. I opted for the first method. The great thing about the adhesive is that it's movable. I've removed it and replaced it several times with the same strips! The best part about the screen itself is the privacy filter. Looking at it straight on, the images are crisp and clear. But, at 45 & 90 degrees, it's completely blacked out. Perfect for a busy office!

I purchased this to restrict view of my screen(my computer is set for the entire office walking by to see my screen.) It functions for that perfectly. It does make my screen a bit dark but that's just part of the deal. The big issue I had was with fit. The blocker i got does not fit my screen. I used the 3m lookup and it is too small.it leaves a 1/4 inch gap on the top and left sides. They need a much better way of getting the right blocker for your computer. that is why the 3 stars.

The whole idea of getting an anti-glare filter (as this is advertised as) is to get less strain on the eyes when using the computer screen. This one does not do that at all. It causes more reflection, not less, just in different places. The filter in reality decreases the amount of light it lets through to one's eyes from the screen and increases the amount of light it lets through from the outside, as visible with more reflectiveness of outside objects. It does not matter if one reverses the screen, same thing happens. Previously one could not see any reflection from objects behind one, but now those objects are clearly shown, so it is almost like staring at a mirror. Looking into a mirror is even more tiring than looking into the very lighted screen without. I realize now the whole concept of adding this barrier between the screen, the air (distance) and one's eyes, in order to stop glare (so strong reflection), is a faulty idea. It will never work, because outside light sources will always change the result (unless a person is in a totally darkened room with no windows, which few people ever are in). In a situation with light sources (windows, reflective objects etc), the only right way to filter the glare is to have a filter right on one's own eyes, so as part of one's glasses. That way there is no reflection from objects behind or next to one's body. So this product can really not be sold as an anti-glare product. It virtually never is. If you need it merely so people standing next to you cannot look see what is on the screen (unless they are behind you) when you're playing games in the boss his time when you're supposed to work for your salary,) this is for you. You'll also be able to see the reflection of your boss then when he stands behind you and discovers what you're doing. :-)

Privacy function works as advertised. Helps to reduce sunlight glare. Unfortunately, the reduction in clarity for reading negates the privacy and glare reduction. Had to return for a refund. Also, the screen fell off the monitor after one day. It had been installed with sticker tabs that would allow removal and insertion of the screen.

This is the product for our administration staff. According to the administrator, they like this product and serve the purpose of protecting the confidential information on the screen while meeting with the people.

Overall, and for the Price (I got this for 29$ when it went on Sale on Amazon/Introduction Price) its a great deal. Now that it is 89,99$, I am not really sure... It definitely does a great Job Blocking from the sides, but if a person is facing your screen, even from a great distance, and not even on eye level, they get a sharp clear picture of what you're seeing. PLEAE NOTE : It states this unit is for a 21.6". My Screen is a 21.5, and this DOES NOT COVER IT ENTIRELY ! Which is a major disappointment. On the same lines as, You had one Job, to make sure the measurements are accurate :) I posted photos of the unit on my iMac, so you can see how it performs under different angle, and how a 21.6 fits on top of a 21.5 Screen. Improved security but did not solve it. The 30 degree viewing angle is misleading as you need to get to a full 45 degrees before it functions as they claim.
