Better than product description and images
As my headline states the product description and image do not accurately define what I received: absolutely better than expected. It is solidly constructed, heavy yet easy to adjust. Then end brackets are sturdy, came with all mounting screws and 2 internal black standoffs. One of the black internal bracket standoffs was broken upon delivery, contacted seller who sent me 2 replacement standoffs without hesitation even though I only needed 1.Attached to door frame and have no issues whatsoever.I would purchase more but most family and friends are not into this type of fitness training as I am. But...may just purchase more in the future to get them into physical training anyway..I recommend this product due to quality and product support.

Excellent pullup or chinup bar
I moved into a new apartment with doors that had very slim frames and my old "over-the-door" mounted pull-up bar was no longer usable.I was very concerned about purchasing what I would call "shower curtain" type pull up bars, but this model is actually a bit different and superior to those older designs.1. The metal and other materials are quite substantial and should be very durable in the long run.2. The bar locks into place by rotating two side pieces with a strong metal screw piece in the center. By having two ends pulling out rather than just one end, the bar is stronger and less likely to bend.3. The inner section is not a simple spring, but actually a screw-rod. Springs can lose tension quite easily, while this inner mechanism is very tough and allows the two side pieces to lock into place by twisting the entire bar, moving both ends either wider or narrower.Overall, while I had originally thought that this bar was going to be a downgrade from my previous over-the-door designs, it's actually more stable and much stronger. As a bonus, you can actually tension it within the door frame and still allow your doors to open and close! An excellent buy! Do not hesitate to purchase!Note: This bar comes with additional supports that you can screw into your door frame. I did not use them and do not believe they are necessary. You can simply prop this bar into position and twist it until it is sturdy; ready for pull ups!

Very good bar (but a relatively permanent installation)
This is the third pull up bar I've had, but this first of this type. The others hook over the top of the door frame and then also push on the vertical door molding. That type feels fairly secure, but they're a minor pain to put up and take down, which is required every time the door is to be closed. This bar is a relatively more permanent installation, but it looks lots better and the door isn't obstructed. However, if you're so tall that you're likely to bump your head on the bar when it's installed a couple of inches below the top of the door that would be a consideration.I first tried installing the bar without using the screws and flange by using only outward force exerted on the door frame by twisting the bar to extend it. That works, and the rubber pads are enough to avoid denting the door jam, but as I cranked it into place I could hear the wood of the door jam complaining, potentially threatening to crack. I think it probably would have been okay, but I didn't want to risk damaging the frame, or the bar potentially falling out of position while I'm in mid pull-up. I then used the screws and flanges to hold the bar in place instead. With that installation it couldn't be more secure, the diameter feels just right, and the padding is firm but comfortable. The thing I'd change would be to have the tops of the flanges open so the bar could be dropped into place with only a minor adjustment. As they are, it requires more cranking on the bar to reduce its extension before it can be removed or put in place.Anyhow, this is a good bar and it's easy to recommend it. I just don't recommend installing it without the screws and flanges.

great bar with easy setup
I set my bar up in a door jamb with just the gel pads initially for stretching 1 shoulder area. I decided to see if it was strong enough in that configuration to hold mt weight (170)lbs. I was able to hang or even do pull ups. The bar is very sturdy for what I need and possibly more once my arm/shoulder get stronger. I didn't want a permanent or semi permanent mount so I could move it up or down easily for different stretches/exercises and this definitely works for that.
