This set of rods is excellent. The finish of each rod is perfect, each rod is polished to a shiny surface, reducing the chance of snags. The rod ends are slightly tapered, making installation into a peg board easy and frustration free. Each rod measures exactly at 1/8" in diameter and 5 inches long, as advertised. I have some questions about the grade of 'stainless steel' they used, I have several other sets of pins and the color of this steel seems off to me, but only time will tell. I did cut one in half, whatever material it's made of is solid, not plated, so I guess we'll see if they rust. Overall, I find this to be a nice set of pins and at under $10 for a set of 40, a good value for the money. Well worth trying if you're on a budget.

These rods are well made from quality materials and are packaged in groups of 20 rods. I question the grade of stainless steel however because stainless steel is non magnetic but these rods stick firmly to a magnet. For that reason, the review lost a star. Each one is perfectly formed and perfectly straight and when measured with digital callipers, the diameter of the rods is consistent all along their length. The rods are just shy of 1/8” or 2.97mm which is within an acceptable tolerance for the specifications made in the product description. The finish of each rod is flawless and they are all highly polished to a shiny, reflective surface. Each end of the rods has a slight chamfer on it, making it easy to insert into peg board holes if that is your intended purpose. For me, I use these rods for crafting purposes and they are very easily cut with a hacksaw to get the size you need. I love their smooth surface and the class that they add to craft projects, especially when used in contrast with wood. They are an inexpensive way to add a special element to your crafting. Regardless of how you use them, you will be pleased with he quality. Great product.
