seems to be made ok, these style filters seem to have the foam sealing borders fail and not make a good seal loading your motor full of dirt if not replaced often. for 7 bucks its a good deal. i did oil the pre filter with tacified filter oil lightly to trap more small debris, they can be washed with dish soap a couple times if done gently.but the main filter is not to be blown out it will separate the fibers rendering it useless. fyi most briggs parts are now mad in china :/

What can I say, it's a filter! The old filter was dirty and falling apart and there was quite a bit of dirt and gunk that were getting by it, causing carburetor issues. The new one fits tight in the housing so dirt won't get into the engine anymore, and the pre-filter is a nice touch as it will prolong the filter life and add a layer of protection. Good value and price!

It's well made, OEM quality and $6 and change is a heck of a lot better than $16 and change the local tractor supply store wanted to sell this for.

Perfect fit and match to our MTD Riding Mower with a Briggs engine. Full tune-up with fresh oil, oil filter and spark plug, fuel filter plus this air filter has us running like new with our 12 year old machine. Just goes to show- A little care and attention goes a long way in keeping things running well for longer times....

Took a while to arrive (shipped from China) but well worth the wait. Fit perfectly and could discern no significant difference in quality from the OEM Briggs & Stratton 697153 filter it replaced on my Craftsman 18hp lawn tractor. Cost was less than half of what I could find it for locally at the big box stores. Of course time will tell if it lasts as long as a genuine part but for now am 100% satisfied and would buy again without question.
